Spain, Camino Del Norte: Day 12.14 Balboa and Bilboa-Portugulete

Urban jungle walking So what am I to lean here? Unlike most due to a head injury the military I don’t have a visual memory. I can’t see pictures in my head. I walk and I can only see what’s in front of me, as I walk I try to generate thought but I have difficulty so I just try to enjoy the here and now. Yes I’m having trouble enjoying this concrete but as I am tempted to nip this stage as it is literally hell on heelsperricus I am reminded that maybe it’s a lesson in patience. Spain, Camino Del Norte: Day 9-10-11 Markina -Munitibar- Gernika- BilBoa

Well I made it, not so bad but still lots of steep uphills and downhills. My back is hurting but all else is well… ok so I am tired too, but well as can be. Views were great walking thru forest and hills with small rivers but the steep downhill was rough on my knee and cyborg turtle actually gave out —— she actually broke a strap and at one point was around my ankle coming down hill so with my Janeguyver skill (example Macgiver) I managed to patch it together but I don’t think it will make it up and down hill another day without serious fixing. I had some…

Spain,Camino Del Norte: Day 6-7 Zarautz to Zumaia on the GR and Zumaia to Deba on the GR

Rain and the sign said 2 hours that was 4 hours ago. Maybe it’s possible if you are a mountain goat but I a mere turtle might be longer with rocks and rain .. slippery. MUD -/-clay omg ???? that’s all I’m gonna say. In the in military I was told to make the best of any disadvantage so I try …I see the views ignore the pain for a minute at least. Tip: tighten your laces for the climb or else you will get toe blisters and possible black toe nails . With the bad knees going down hill….,Lean back take the first step with the affected knee at a…

Spain, Camino Del Norte: Day 8 Rain and Rest in Deba Markena

I didn’t sleep well last night and I was hurting. Especially my back, and heelspurricus was raging of course, so much so that I couldn’t walk last night. My back could be the rain but either way I’m happy it’s an off day. I heard the toughest stage was to Markena but I didn’t believe it until I was on the bus and the female bus driver to Ondarroa said the same thing. She was happy to practice English and i happy for local information. I then switched busses to get to Markina and it was raining so I was a little happy .. but sad at the same time…
